The parameters for the indicator's calculations can be changed by locating and opening the under -> under "Highest Volume Index" .

Example:

This indicator can be used as a confirmation to a primary indicator. An example of a confirmation could be when the index volume value is higher than the 50 threshold:

 chart.at30min.HVI.value > 50
